
Lopez, Aviators blank El Paso

ROBSTOWN, Texas â Jose Luis Lopez and the Coastal Bend Aviators shutout the El Paso Diablos 3-0 Sunday night at Fairground Field.
Lopez (2-3) went the distance striking out nine batters for the Aviators. After giving up two hits in the first inning Lopez settled down allowing only two more hits the rest of the game.
Lance Rankin scored the first run of the game in the third inning on an error by El Paso centerfielder John Schmitz.
The Aviators added another run in the fifth inning when Jack Joffrion scored on Kenny Hansley's RBI single making the score 2-0.
Chris Judkins drove in the final Aviators run of the game on an infield single scoring Mike Guerrero.
Wesley Faust (2-3) took the loss for El Paso.
The Aviators are home on Monday to wrap up the four-game series against El Paso at 7:05. It will be the first "Margarita Monday" ($1 Margaritas) of the season.
