
Sports snap five-game skid

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports snapped a five-game losing streak Sunday with an 8-3 win over the Jackson Senators at Fair Grounds field.
Shreveport scored two-run in the first inning on a two-out, two-run double by Jason Torres. However, Jackson came back to tie the game with two runs in the third inning.
The Sports took the lead for good with a two-run, two-run double by Dalphie Correa in the fifth. Shreveport scored another run in the sixth and added three insurance runs in the eighth.
Shreveport starter Dusty Dossett pitched seven innings to record his third win of the season. Dossett also struck out a season high nine batters.
Shreveport and Jackson will close out the four-game series Monday at Fair Grounds Field. Game time 7:05.
