MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Tuesday, September 1st, 2015) -- Minnesota United (4W-3T-2L, 15pts.) is coming off a much needed bye week after stringing together a pair of road wins. The Loons are now fresh for a midweek tilt against Indy Eleven. Indy comes into Wednesday's match having suffered their biggest defeat in franchise history - a 7-1 throttling at the hands of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Both the Loons and Eleven will look to come away with three points on Wednesday and set up for the final stretch of the NASL season. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. CDT - fans can watch the action live on ONE World Sports or tape-delayed on KSTC45-TV.

It's the final third of the season, and the teams with Championship ambition are working their way up the NASL Standings and positioning themselves for a deep run in this season's postseason competition. Despite playing five of the last six matches on the road, the Loons are sitting comfortably in third position and carrying momentum forward and up the table.

"We're excited to enter this phase of the season, after some tough road games, to get back in front of our fans," said Minnesota United Head Coach Manny Lagos. "The guys are looking forward to improving on our last couple of games."

The Loons have scored in the last 19 matches straight and have tied the NASL scoring record with goals in 17 consecutive League matches. Minnesota has wavered defensively recently, with the last clean sheet coming in early July and in early May before that. That will be something United focuses on this Wednesday, when Indy Eleven comes to town for the midweek match.

"We recognize that Indy is a team that has had some very positive results," said Lagos. "They got road points against Tampa Bay and Atlanta the weekend before last, they are a team that represents some quality players and they have some speed on the field. We just have to be ready to decide to be sharp at home."

Minnesota is just three points away from second position in the overall standings. A win on Wednesday and United will draw even in points with Ottawa heading into a weekend match against FC Edmonton. Every point is crucial in this late stage of the season.

The Loons are home for just the second time in six weeks. Take advantage and watch the match live at NSC Stadium! Tickets are available HERE. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CDT on Wednesday.
