Loons Finalize Tigers Legends Series

The Great Lakes Loons have finalized plans for the Tigers Legends Series-a continuation of 2009's successful Tigers Championship Celebration series. The Tigers Legends Series presented by MidMichigan Health includes six Loons home games paying tribute to former Tigers greats. Three of the games will include a visit from Tigers greats and three games will include a commemorative bobblehead of Tigers legends. Loons fans can purchase the Tigers Legends Ticket Package for just $54 for all six games.

Players scheduled to visit are four-time American League All-Star Willie Horton, three-time American League All-Star and 1968 World Series Most Valuable Player Mickey Lolich, as well as a repeat visit from two-time National League All-Star Darrell Evans. All player appearances have been confirmed but are subject to change. Players to be honored with a bobblehead giveaway are three-time American League All-Star Cecil Fielder, eleven-time American League All-Star Bill Freehan, and four-time American League All-Star Norm Cash. As part of the series, MidMichigan Health will provide fans with health and wellness-themed fairs at each of the six games.

The Tigers Legends Ticket Package is available now through the Loons' ticket office at 989.837.BALL. With the package, fans will receive box seats to each of the Loons' six home games in the series, three Tigers bobblehead giveaways and the opportunity to meet the three Tigers legends visiting Dow Diamond.

"The 1984 Tigers Championship Celebration was a huge success last season and offered a unique opportunity for our fans to relive the excitement of the Tigers ‘84 World Series Championship," said Chris Mundhenk, Loons vice president of marketing and entertainment. Ticket packages - including the Tigers Legends ticket package - and group outings currently are available by calling 989-837-BALL. Single game tickets for the Loons' April 11 Opening Day are now on sale, with all remaining individual game tickets going on sale March 1.
