
Loons, Dow Partner for Dow Student Heroes

MIDLAND, Mich. - For the sixth consecutive year, the Great Lakes Loons and the Dow Chemical Company will partner together for the Dow Student Heroes Program with a focus of impacting the lives of young people in the region. The program brings Lou E. Loon and various Loons players to five schools of the Great Lakes Bay Region to emphasize the importance of education. As part of the program, Dow donates 200 tickets to each of the participating schools. Schools can use the tickets for incentives to encourage and reward the academic achievements of their students.
The beginning stop of the 2012 Dow Student Heroes Program takes place Thursday, April 25, at Heavenrich Elementary School in Saginaw at 10:30 a.m. The program will also make stops at Herig Elementary on Friday, April 27; C.C. Coulter Elementary and Kolb Elementary on Wednesday, May 2; and MacGregor Elementary on Thursday, May 3.
Five additional schools have been selected by Dow to receive the ticket portion of the program. These schools are Bullock Creek Middle School, Hemlock Middle School, Ricker Middle School, Loomis Elementary and Merrill Park Elementary.
