Lookouts Top Diamond Jaxx

The Chattanooga Lookouts scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning and didn't look back en-route to an 11-5 win over the Diamond Jaxx in game three of a four game series from AT&T Field. The win moves the Lookouts record to 7-8 in the second half of the season while the Jaxx drop to 5-10.

The Lookouts got all six runs with two outs in the third inning off losing pitcher Ryan Ketchner (6-5). Of the twenty-two runs the Lookouts have scored in this series, fourteen of those runs have scored with two outs in the inning.

Justin Turner led the Lookouts offense with a 5-5 afternoon. He scored a run while driving in three. Craig Tatum and Sean Henry also drove in three runs for the Lookouts, who finished with fifteen hits on the afternoon.

Camilo Vazquez (1-0) picked up the win in his first Double-A start of the season. Vazquez allowed a run on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

Ketchner suffered the loss for the Diamond Jaxx. He allowed seven runs (four earned) on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings of work. Johan Limonta and Jon Nelson homered in a losing cause for the Diamond Jaxx. Brent Johnson also had two hits and a RBI.

The Jaxx will try to get a split of the four game series with the final game taking place at 5:15 CDT. Left-hander Justin Thomas (5-5 4.43) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Chattanooga will counter with righty Jordan Smith (1-4 6.99).
