HOOVER, Ala. (July 2) - Prior to tonight's ballgame with the Birmingham Barons, the Mobile BayBears have made a roster move. RHP Reid Mahon has been promoted to Triple-A Tucson. Mahon has appeared in 33 ballgames for the BayBears this season and has converted in all 18 of his save opportunities. He had a 0-0 record with a 3.07 ERA in 41 innings. Last season, Mahon had 21 saves between South Bend, Visalia and the BayBears with a 1.48 ERA.
The move leaves the BayBears with 23 active players and 2 on the disabled list. Mahon will not pitch in the Southern League All-Star Game which he was named to yesterday.
