Lookouts Snap Smokies' Win Streak, 4-2

Kodak, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies (36-31) fell to the Chattanooga Lookouts (33-34) 4-2 Friday night at Smokies Stadium, snapping a four-game Tennessee win streak.

RHP Riley Thompson made his second start since coming off the Development List and showed notable improvement. After failing to get out of the first inning in his last start, Thompson went two innings and allowed only one earned run. RHP Chris Clarke (L, 2-3) was terrific in relief despite taking the loss. He worked 5.2 innings and surrendered two earned runs, with a home run to his last batter, Isiah Gilliam, the difference in the game.

Infielder Jake Slaughter provided the offense for the Smokies Friday night. He had two of Tennessee's five hits, and he was one of two Smokies to score. Matt Mervis and Chase Strumpf each had RBIs in the loss.

The Smokies can clinch a series win over Chattanooga Saturday night at Smokies Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. ET when the Smokies send RHP Ryan Jensen (0-1, 4.22) to the mound against RHP Brandon Williamson (5-2, 4.02).
