Longballs the Difference in Doubleheader Split

In game one, the Senators scored all six of their runs on home runs to power past the Hartford Yard Goats 6-1. The Sens slammed four home runs including back-to-back HRs for the first time this season. In game two, Hartford used a longball in the seventh inning to beat the Sens 5-4. Harrisburg again scored all four runs on two two-run home runs

ON CAPITOL HILL

Richard Guasch started game one and tossed six innings for the win. He allowed one run on three hits while striking out five. He pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the second and allowed just one run in the third while pitching out of a bases loaded situation. Matt Brill tossed a 1-2-3 seventh inning. In game two, Alex Troop made a spot start and went four innings allowing two earned runs. Andrew Lee pitched the final three frames and gave up a one-out home run in the seventh which proved to be the game winner for Hartford.

WITH THE GAVEL

Taylor Gushue, Justin Connell, Mitch Longo and Gibert Lara all homered in game one. Connell and Lara hit two-run home runs while Longo followed Connell's with his shot. In game two, Justin Connell again hit a two-run home run and Jake Alu tied the game with a two-run home run of his own in the third.

FILIBUSTERS

The doubleheader was the first for the Sens this season. Both games were under two hours. The four home runs in game tied a single game high this season for Harrisburg.

The Senators and Hartford Yard Goats play games four of their six-game series Friday at 7:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The games can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:50 p.m.
