Cranbrook, B.C. - Jeff Hollick is no stranger to Jarret Stoll and the lasting impression he made on the ICE organization and the City of Cranbrook.

Hollick took over the broadcasting duties for the team at the start of its second season in the East Kootenay city. That means, that Hollick was afforded the opportunity to watch Stoll for three seasons as he guided his team to two WHL championships (2000, 2002) and one Memorial Cup (2002).

'If you needed a big goal, he would get it. If you needed him to make a big pass to a teammate to get a big goal, he would do it. If you needed a big face-off, he would win it."

Hollick described Stoll as a player that would do anything to help the team win a game, and the Melville, Saskatchewan native did a lot of that during his time with the ICE. With Stoll's leadership from 1998 to 2002, the ICE racked up 157 regular season wins, an average of 39 wins per season. The ICE franchise would capture its first WHL crown in 2000, but it's coming out party to the country would be in the spring of 2002 when the ICE would skate to a Memorial Cup.

During the 2002 Memorial Cup event in Guelph, Ontario, Hollick called Stoll a calming influence.

"He took all the interviews. He protected his players so they didn't have to get involved in all the extra-curricular distractions," said Hollick. "Just was a great representative of the Kootenay ICE on and off the ice."

Beyond Stoll's leadership qualities within the boards, he was also a consummate pro in the community. Hollick stated that when he thinks of Stoll, he thinks of the presence he made in Cranbrook.

When speaking about different community events the ICE were involved with, Hollick said, "[Stoll] wasn't one of those guys that just went there and hung out. He wanted to make a presence, he wanted to make it memorable."

"He really became part of the community in Cranbrook, everyday, on and off the ice."

On March 2, Stoll will become the first inductee into the newly launched ICE Hall of Fame. Hollick has no issues with that selection.

"You got to say he's the greatest ICE player of all time."

Currently, Stoll is second in ICE franchise history in goals (124), assists (162), points (286) and power play goals (54).

The Jarret Stoll ICE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place prior to the game between the ICE and the Calgary Hitmen on March 2.
