EDENTON, N.C.--The SwampDogs cranked three home runs at Historic Hicks Field en route to an 11-5 victory over the Edenton Steamers Wednesday night.
The SwampDogs tallied a new season high with 21 hits with all ten of the SwampDogs' hitters registering at least one hit. Matt Lahn (Lock Haven) cracked his second homer of the season, a three-run shot in the first inning, to open up a four-run lead that the SwampDogs would never look back from. Tristen Gagan (Southeast Missouri) and Hunter Dolshun (Maryland, Baltimore County) also blasted home runs.
Trey Vickers (Wichita State) and Tyler Tharp (Virginia Military Institute) each went 4-6 and Lahn finished with five RBIs.
Starter Zack Martinelli (Seton Hill) worked out of a couple of early jams and finished six innings to earn the win. Edenton starter Randy Dobnak (Alderson-Broaddus) surrendered six runs to get hung with the loss as the Steamers lost for the eighth straight time.
