Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release
Springdale, AR- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals were unable to bounce back from last night's loss as the Arkansas Travlers used three home runs to take game three of the series by the final score of 4-2 Friday night in front of a crowd of 5,478 at Arvest Ballpark.
The Arkansas Travelers (30-29) got on the board first in the fourth inning when Michael Collins hit a solo shot to center field to put them up 1-0.
The Naturals (31-28) came right back in the bottom of the fourth, when Kila Kaaihue hit his team-leading 13th home run to tie things up at one a piece.
North Little Rock's squad continued the slugfest when Ben Johnson and Brian Stavisky hit back-to-back home runs to take back the lead at 4-1.
Northwest Arkansas added one more run in the sixth on Mario Lisson's RBI groundout.
Right-hander Robert Mosebach (5-3) started for the Travs and picked up the victory. He tossed 6 and 2/3 innings giving up one run and tying a season-high with nine hits, while striking out three and walking a batter. Stephen Marek picked up his third save of the season pitching the final two innings.
Naturals' starter Blake Johnson (5-4) suffered the loss. He went six innings, giving up four runs on six hits, fanning four batters and walking one batter.
With tonight's loss the Naturals now cling to a one-game lead over the Travelers for first place in the North Division and are now 6-9 against the Travs this season, meaning that they have lost the tie-breaker should the Travs and Naturals end up tied at the conclusion of the season's first half on June 17th.
