London Takes Season Series in 4-1 Win

The London Knights clinched the season series 4-2 against the Rangers with their 4-1-win Saturday afternoon. The Knights scored three unanswered goals in the second period to put them up 3-0 which the Rangers could not recover from despite a dominant third period.

Mitchell Martin scored his first goal since November 3rd, 2023, in the game. He was out with an injury from November 5th to March 1st after scoring nine goals in the first 15 games of the season. With the assists, Luca Romano has scored four points and Carson Campbell has put up three points over the past two games.

5:34 Jacob Julien (26) - Jared Woolley, Alec Leonard

The first goal of the game was a fluke goal given to Jacob Julien. Julien was the intended recipient of a pass in the neutral zone, however, it bounced off his stick and into the Rangers' zone. Matthew Andonovski attempted to tie up Julien and play the puck, however accidentally knocked it back toward Jackson Parsons, which snuck through and registered the first goal of the game.

8:07 Oliver Bonk (24) - Easton Cowan, Max McCue - 4 on 4

Oliver Bonk doubled London's lead with a wrist shot from the point. Isaiah George sent a puck behind the net, which Easton Cowan won the race to, being tied up with Cameron Reid in the process. Cowan broke free, eventually sending a saucer pass over the paddle of Jackson Parsons to the slot to Oliver Bonk. Bonk did a spin move in traffic to put the puck on his forehand and sent the puck low blocker past Parsons.

11:56 Denver Barkey (32) - Easton Cowan, Isaiah George

London scored their third unanswered goal of the game off the stick of Denver Barkey. The play broke down as Isaiah George broke his stick when attempting a shot on net from the point. Easton Cowan received the puck and sent it back to the point. Cowan quickly received it back and sent a backhand to the slot where Barkey was skating cross-ice. He took a wrist shot against his momentum and scored top shelf.

3rd Period

LDN 3, KIT 1

2:11 Mitchell Martin (10) - Luca Romano, Carson Campbell

The Rangers cut the lead down to two as Mitchell Martin got them on the board. Carson Campbell got the play going on the forecheck as he tied up Alec Leonard. Luca Romano came in and stripped Leonard of the puck and sent a pass to the slot to Martin. Martin was all alone and wristed the puck low blocker on Michael Simpson for the Rangers' first of the game.

17:37 Kaleb Lawrence (16) - Denver Barkey, Oliver Bonk (Empty Net)

Easton Cowan blocked a shot in zone which led to Oliver Bonk collecting the puck and sending it to Denver Barkey on the breakout. As they entered the Rangers zone, he sent it to Kaleb Lawrence who sealed the game on the empty net.

The Goalies:

Michael Simpson got the start for London and he stopped 23 of 24 shots in the win moving his season record to 31-10-1-1. Jackson Parsons stood tall, making many difficult saves throughout the game despite the loss moving his season record to 26-16-1-0. He made 27 of 30 potential saves in the contest.
