DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves clinched a playoff berth with a decisive 6-0 victory over the Greeneville Astros Saturday night at American Legion Post 325 Field. With the win the D-Braves even the season series 3-3.

The D-Braves benefitted from a pair of errors and scored three runs on three hits in the third. Ranging to his right, Astros second baseman Brian Blasik was forced to make the off balance throw, which wasn't in time to beat catcher Troy Snitker to the bag.

With Snitker in safely at first, designated hitter José Peraza hit his fifth single of the series. Levi Hyams followed with an RBI single to open the scoring. Third baseman Carlos Franco held up on a full count pitch for ball four. With the bases loaded, first baseman Aris Alcantara hit a routine fly ball to left fielder Terrell Joyce. But Joyce let the ball play him and tried to throw it before he had it, which fell for a costly two run error that scored Peraza and Hyams to make it 3-0. Peraza and Hyams have safely reached base in every game this series.

In the fourth, and after 76 at-bats, D-Braves center fielder Logan Robbins hit his first home run of the season. The Robbins round tripper was the second two run home run by the D-Braves this series. Alcantara touched 'em all with a two run homer in last night's game.

The D-Braves added an insurance run on a bang bang play at home plate in the fifth. Franco drew his second walk of the game to lead off the inning. After advancing to second on a wild pitch, Franco was driven home on an RBI single by Alcantara. But it was a close play at the plate with Astros catcher Ernesto Genoves blocking the dish. Franco's bent-leg slide was good enough to get around him and pad the lead 6-0.

D-Braves starter Mauricio Cabrera retired 10 Astros in a row before shortstop Carlos Correa reached on a fielding error in the fourth. Cabrera went on to pitch 6.0 scoreless innings of one hit ball to qualify for the win. The D-Braves are now 9-3 in games Cabrera starts.

The playoff bound D-Braves first hit the road for a three-game series against the Johnson City Cardinals August 26-28.
