Lock Monsters Sign Center Jeff Daw

Lowell, MA – Tom Rowe, Director of Player Personnel for the Lowell Lock Monsters, today announced the team has signed center Jeff Daw to a two - year contract.

Daw, 30, appeared in 79 games for the Hershey Bears during the 2001-02 season, registering 51 points (26g, 25a) and 22 PIM, He also appeared in one game with Hershey's NHL affiliate, Colorado Avalanche, registering one assist.

Prior to the 2001-02 season, Daw (6'3", 209 lbs) spent five seasons in the East Coast Hockey League, International Hockey League and the American Hockey League. The Ontario native appeared in 75 games with the Lock Monsters over the 1999-00 and 2000-01 seasons, registering 61 points (28g, 33a) and 37 PIM in regular season play. He owns two Lock Monster franchise records for points in a game (4) and consecutive point scoring streak (11 games).

Prior to a professional contract, Daw played four years of collegiate hockey at the University of Lowell. Through four seasons, he appeared in 157 games, registering 141 points (68g, 73a) and 60 PIM. Daw will report to training camp with the Carolina Hurricanes in September.

The Lock Monsters face off against the Manchester Monarchs in their home opener scheduled for October 12th at the Tsongas Arena.
