Bakersfield, CA -- The Bakersfield Condors Care-A-Van makes a stop in Frazier Park on Thursday, July 25th. It is the second stop on the Care-A-Van tour this summer.
The Condors will enjoy lunch at Big John's Restaurant with the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce and the Children's Miracle Network at noon. Big John's Restaurant is located at 3121 Mt. Pinos Way. After lunch, there will be an autograph signing at Ace Hardware on 3320 Mt. Pinos Way at 1:00pm, with Condors Paul Rosebush and Jeff Goldie.
At each Care-A-Van stop, donations will be collected for Goodwill Industries, in exchange for a voucher good for free admission to Opening Night on October 12th. The Condors inflatable slapshot game will be on hand for kids to test their skills and the Ace Hardware flush tank will keep the players cool and provide entertainment.
"We're excited to get out to Frazier Park," said Condors Community Relations Director John Ayre. "Big John's and Ace Hardware have been really receptive to our visit, and we have fans out there looking forward to our arrival. We 're happy to have Frazier Park's support with collecting donations for Goodwill as well."
The next stop on the Condors Care-A-Van tour is in Taft on Thursday, August 1st. There will be an instructional skating session, lunch with the Kiwanis Club and autograph signing at Cingular Wireless. The exact schedule will be announced at a later date. Individuals in towns surrounding Bakersfield that would like the Condors Care-A-Van to visit their town should call 324-PUCK (7825) to schedule an event.
The 2002-03 season opener is 80 days away with the Bakersfield Condors hosting the Fresno Falcons at Centennial Garden on Saturday, October 12th. Condor Droppings. . . The Condors 2002-03 roster currently stands at eight players. Centers Jason Jackman and Paul Willett, wingers Anders Johnson, Jason Ralph and Paul Rosebush, defensemen Jonas Lennartsson and Christoffer Norgren and goaltender Kevin St. Pierre... The July website auction features the "Dinner with Coach" package. The winner receives dinner for two with Head Coach Paul Kelly at Wood'ys Grill Bar & Deck.
