Thurs., July 25-Hamilton E. Hog will join IceHogs Oak Hewer and Clint Wensley at Carlson Ice Arena on Thursday, and all three will interact and skate with kids enrolled in a summer camp sponsored by the Rockford Gymnastics Academy. Hewer, Wensley and Hammy will appear at Carlson from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Sat., July 27-Hamilton E. Hog will be one of several area participants appearing in a "mascot soccer game" on Saturday at North Central College in Chicago. Hammy, a guest of the Chicago Fire Major League Soccer team, will take to the soccer pitch at approximately 3:45, or at halftime of Fire's MLS match. A full re-cap of Hammy's MLS soccer debut will be included in next week's IceHogs Community Calendar.
Week in Review...
Fri., July 19-Hamilton E. Hog displayed his dancing prowess as a special guest of the Hononegah High School cheerleaders on Friday. The cheerleaders hosted a teen dance during "Old Settlers Days," an annual summer festival in Rockton, Ill. Assisted by both Hammy and the Rockton Lion's Club, the cheerleaders raised money for local programs, including youth hockey, in the Rockton area.
Wed., July 17-The IceHogs Oak Hewer was one of several community guests invited to the Muscular Dystrophy Association's summer camp in Walworth, Wis. on Wednesday. Oak, representing the team, accepted a gift from the many kids who are directly impacted by the IceHogs annual jersey auction. Over the last three seasons, the jersey auction alone has raised nearly $200,000 for the local chapter of the MDA. The fourth annual IceHogs/MDA jersey auction is planned for March of 2003.
