Albany Devils News Release
LOWELL, Mass. - Got a broken skate? No problem! How about a broken bone? Forget about it! With the return of Head Equipment Manager Jim Chesnut and the hiring of Head Athletic Trainer Brian Maddox, as well as putting the bevy of team doctors in place, the Lowell Lock Monsters will be well taken care of during the 2005-06 American Hockey League campaign.
Chesnut returns for his second season as equipment manager. With nearly a decade of experience under his belt in professional hockey, Chesnut will oversee every aspect of the equipment operation, from ordering and inventory of all game gear to daily maintenance. The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma native first broke into the pro hockey realm in his home town with the Blazers in the Central Hockey League. Since then he has had stops in Topeka, Kansas (also in the CHL) as well as New Orleans in the ECHL, Quad City and Kalamazoo, both in the United Hockey League.
Maddox enters his first season with the Lock Monsters after spending the summer with the Atlantic City Surf baseball team. Brian formerly served as head athletic trainer for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in the ECHL in 2004-05. He was also a member of the medical staff for the Binghamton Senators during the 2003-2004 season as an assistant athletic trainer and assisted with medical coverage for men's ice hockey in the Empire State Games held in Binghamton, NY in 2000. While attending Villanova University, he served as the athletic trainer for the football and men's lacrosse teams for two seasons. Maddox graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and from Villanova University with a Master of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies.
