Lowell, MA ... The Lowell Lock Monsters continued their commitment to the communities of the Merrimack Valley in the 2004-05 season, with numerous fundraisers, ticket donations and charitable appearances.

The Lock Monsters, partnered with several business organizations, raised nearly $100,000 in cash donations during the 2004-05 season. Major fundraisers included a "Boot Fundraiser" with Trinity Ambulance and the Lowell Fire Department for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Services; a Spa Raffle with Aquatime Pools and Spas for Boston Children's Hospital and a ticket fundraiser with Bentley College's Alpah Gamma Pi Fraternity for Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled. The Lock Monsters held their second annual "Skaters to Waiters" Fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the pediatric unit at Lowell General Hospital, and made several hospital visits with the patients in the unit.

In addition to monetary fundraisers, the Lock Monsters conducted their first blood drive with Saints Memorial Medical Center and joined Hannaford Supermarkets for a holiday food drive to benefit local food pantries.

Several local school districts and youth hockey programs took part in the Lock Monsters ticket fundraisers over the 2004-05 season, raising thousands of dollars for their organizations, while Lock Monsters players took part in school assemblies and youth hockey practices throughout the Merrimack Valley.

Lowell embarks on the 2005-06 campaign with a renewed affiliation with the Carolina Hurricanes, and will be joined by prospects from the Colorado Avalanche organization. Season ticket packages for the 2005-06 season are currently on sale in the Lock Monsters ticket office, and can be reserved by calling (978) 458-7825.
