DAYTON, OH- The Dayton Dragons are pleased to team up with Montgomery, Clark, and Greene County schools to present the 2008 Dragons MVP Program, honoring students that have earned "MVP" status in the classroom.

The Montgomery County Dragons MVP program participants are invited to attend a special Dragons MVP "Field Day" on Saturday, June 21st from 10 AM to 12:30 PM where they will have a chance to meet the 2008 Dayton Dragons and enjoy a day of fun activities at Fifth Third Field. Scheduled activities include face painters, inflatable games, mascots, complimentary ballpark snacks, a free team poster, skills stations with the Dragons players, and an autograph session. Clark and Greene County MVPs will celebrate their field day later this summer.

"The MVP Field Day is a great reward for these students who have achieved so much in the classroom," said Robert Murphy, Dragons team president. "Now that they've put in the hard work in class, they get to kick off their summer vacation with a day of fun at the ballpark."

Over 850 classrooms participated in the program, and each teacher selected five Dragons MVPs for their classroom. Those children that have been selected as a Dragons MVP received complimentary tickets to enjoy a Dragons game at Fifth Third Field with their families. At each game they will also receive a customized Dragons MVP ball cap.

This is the third season for the Dragons MVP Program: A Tool for Teachers. In year three of the MVP Program, 129 schools throughout Clark, Greene, and Montgomery counties have used the marketing power of Dayton Dragons Baseball as an educational tool for teachers to motivate and reward students for success in the classroom. The program, made possible by The Turner Foundation, PACE (Parents Advancing Choice in Education), Montgomery County, and Dayton's CW Television, reached over 25,000 students this spring.
