Local Companies Team Up With Firecats For Kids

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats recently announced a partnership with Boys and Girls of Southwest Florida and many local companies to bring children to the Firecats next home game June 18th against former head coach Ben Bennett and the Manchester Wolves.

"It's a great opportunity to bring smiles to the faces of children in our area." Said Susan Sublet of First Home Builders, "With every home we close we allocate money to our Community 1st Initiative that we use to make donations to local charities that reach out to families in our neighborhood."

First Home Builders, has contributed 200 seats in section 116 for each of the next 4 home games as part of the First Home Builders Fun Zone. In addition DR Horton, Outback Steakhouse, US Homes, RE/MAX Realty, The Naples Daily News and Renda Broadcasting of Southwest Florida, have donated 1000 tickets for this weekends game to bring kids to see the Firecats as well.

Over 2000 kids, from 6year olds to seniors in high school, participate in the Boys and Girls Club in Lee County alone. Not only does it give children a safe place to play but the Boys and Girls Club also helps kids with schoolwork that continues with tutoring & mentoring programs through the summer months.

"Our kids don't have to look any further than the guys on the field as proof that you can follow your dreams and be successful if you're willing to work hard enough." Said Bill Gunnin, the Executive Director for the Boy and Girls Club of Southwest Florida. "We began our relationship with the Firecats a few years ago and it has turned into one of the kid's favorite activities."

The 2004 ArenaCup Champion Florida Firecats return home this week to begin a 4 game home stand at Germain Arena starting with a highly anticipated rematch against the Manchester Wolves. The Firecats won the previous meeting 32-26 in overtime way back in week 2. The Firecats will have an opportunity to win the South Division, for the 2nd year in a row, and take a big leg up in the race for home field advantage in the American Conference throughout the post-season.
