NEW YORK CITY - September 2, 2011 - Irina Falconi, John Isner and James Blake all play singles matches and Eric Butorac and CoCo Vandeweghe reunite for a mixed doubles match. Lobster marquee player Isner, seeded 28th, takes on fellow American Robby Ginepri in the second match at Louis Armstrong Stadium in an attempt to reach the third round. Falconi's third-round match against No. 22 seed Sabine Lasicki of Germany will be the third match at the Grandstand. Following that match, marquee player Blake will attempt to take down fifth-seeded David Ferrer of Span on the same court in second-round action. On a court yet to be announced, Vandeweghe and Butorac will team in mixed doubles for a first-round match against eighth-seeded Gisela Dulkoand Eduardo Schwankof Argentina.
On Thursday, Falconi and Steve Johnson combined on a 6-3, 6-2 win at mixed doubles over Andrea Hlavackova and Horia Tecau. Falconi and Edina Gallovits-Hall fell in women's doubles to Alona Bondarenko and Kateryna Bondarenko, 6-1, 6-0, in the first round.
