WTT Updates Status of Boston Lobsters

Boston Lobsters News Release
Dear Boston Lobsters fans and supporters,
I wanted to update you on the status of the Boston Lobsters professional tennis team.
As you all know, the League took over the operations of the team in 2015 after the previous owner retired from the sports business. We spent more than a year seeking a local owner or ownership group but unfortunately we were not able to find the right fit. This brings to an end a wonderful run in the Boston area for the Lobsters as the team will not return for the 2016 Mylan World TeamTennis season.
The volunteers, fans, ball kids, staff and sponsors have been such an important part of this journey and we are all so grateful for your support of World TeamTennis and the fantastic professional players who have worn the Boston Lobsters uniform over the years.
Local ownership and a commitment to community are integral to the success of any professional sports franchise. The door is always open in the years ahead to return to Boston with the right ownership.
I hope you will continue to support Mylan World TeamTennis at both the recreational and professional levels. If your travels bring you to any of the cities that are home to a Mylan WTT franchise, we hope you will come out to a match. We have teams in the Northeast in Philadelphia, Washington DC and a newly announced franchise in New York City that will play at the historic Forest Hills Stadium at The West Side Tennis Club.
Thank you again for your support and passion for the sport of tennis.
Kind regards,
Ilana Kloss
Mylan WTT CEO/Commissioner
