Kastles Owner Mark Ein Buys Washington, DC Overwatch League Team, Representing Baltimore to Richmond

Washington Esports Ventures, led by businessman, investor and Washington Kastles owner Mark Ein, announced today it purchased a Washington, DC-based team in the fast growing Overwatch League from Blizzard Entertainment. August 5, 2018 - PHILADELPHIA - It took 23 seasons but the Springfield Lasers are finally the World TeamTennis champions. Springfield overpowered the top-seeded Philadelphia Freedoms, 19-18, at Sunday's World TeamTennis Finals presented by GEICO on the campus of Drexel University in Philadelphia. Miomir Kecmanovic was the standout for the Lasers, winning four consecutive games in the final set to defeat Kevin King in men's singles 5-3 to bring Springfield back from a 3-game final set deficit. Kastles 2018 Season Ends; Breakers Defeat Kastles 23-17 in Season Finale

August 3, 2018 - The Washington Kastles' grab at the remaining spot in the 2018 World TeamTennis Finals came to an end last night in Newport Beach. The Kastles needed a win over the Orange County Breakers and a loss from the Springfield Lasers to advance. But at the end of the night, neither scenario played out. After winning the first set comfortably, the Kastles saw the last four events slip away to give the Breakers their final victory of the season, 23-17. August 3, 2018 - PHILADELPHIA - Taylor Townsend of the Philadelphia Freedoms and Marcin Matkowski of the San Diego Aviators were named recipients of the World TeamTennis MVP awards presented by Forevermark, based on their performance during the 2018 regular season of World TeamTennis presented by GEICO.
