Clinton LumberKings News Release

Kane County grabbed game one of this best of three opening round matchup by jumping on Clinton starter Nick Masset for two in the second and three in the third.

Masset left the game after six, having surrendered five runs, only three of which were earned, on eight hits. Three infield errors marred Masset's effort as fanned five without issuing a free pass, but he did plunk two.

Clinton was blanked through eight and two-thirds when catcher Manny Santana finally got them on the board with an inconsequential three-run blast that drove in Hector Lebron and Larry Grayson, both of whom had singled.

And if Wisconsin wins, Clinton will be at Wisconsin Saturday, and be at home Sunday and Monday.
