(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club is pleased to announce that it has secured a berth in the Western Final to be played at BC Place on Sunday, November 18th with kickoff at 1:30 pm (PT).

The Lions claimed top spot in the West Division after defeating the Edmonton Eskimos by a 39-19 margin in front of 30,102 fans at BC Place this evening.
The Leos currently boast a CFL-best 12-4 record on the year and now await results of the three other West Division teams over the next two weeks to find out who will square off in the Western Semi-Final on Sunday, November 11th.
The win also established a new mark for wins by a BC Lions first-year head coach as Mike Benevides notches his 12th win on the year bettering the mark previously held by Wally Buono, Don Matthews and Bob O'Billovich.
"Our fans have been a huge part of our success over the past two seasons and we are proud and excited to host the Western Final," said Lions president and CEO Dennis Skulsky. "Tonight's win is an important step on our journey to defend our Grey Cup title on behalf of all British Columbians and further demonstrates why we are fortunate to have the CFL's best and loudest fans."
This is the second consecutive first place finish in the West Division for the Lions who enjoyed a historic run to a Grey Cup championship in 2011. The Lions will look to return to the 100th Grey Cup championship slated for November 25th in Toronto.
