
Lions secure class of 2009

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that five members of the 2009 draft class have agreed terms to contracts with the team. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deals were not released.
"Each of these players will be given every opportunity to make our roster and I believe they are equally excited about the chance to do so," said Lions' GM and head coach Wally Buono.
Linebacker James Yurichuk, receiver Matt Carter, offensive lineman Matt Morencie, defensive back Tang Bacheyie and defensive lineman Jonathan Pierre-Etienne will make their Black and Orange debut at BC Lions Rookie Camp slated for Thursday, Friday and Saturday (June 4th - 6th) in Abbotsford.
The Lions also announced that two territorial exemptions will get a taste of a pro camp as Andrew Harris (Vancouver Island Raiders) and David Mills (Acadia Axemen) take the field this week with the rest of the Lions first-year prospects.

Thursday, June 4th - Lions Rookie Camp - Day 1 Practice Time - 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm (W.J. Mouat High School)
Media Availability - 11:30 am - 12:30 pm (Lunch - Columbia Bible College)
Friday, June 5th - Lions Rookie Camp - Day 2 Practice Time - 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm (W.J. Mouat High School)

BC Lions Training Camp begins on Sunday, June 7 in Abbotsford BC.
The Lions travel to Calgary to take on the defending Grey Cup champion Stampeders in preseason action on Wednesday, June 17th and will host the Edmonton Eskimos at BC Place on Tuesday, June 23rd at 7:00 pm.
