(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club today announced at a joint media conference with officials from UBC, that a limited number of general admission tickets have been released for the Friday, June 19th preseason game versus the Edmonton Eskimos slated for 7:00 pm on David Sidoo Field at Thunderbird Stadium presented by Pepsi.

A limited number of tickets for the game are available now by visiting ticketmaster.ca or calling 604.589.ROAR.

"The response from our season ticket holders has been incredible, but we do want to share this experience with folks who would like to take in this unique and memorable experience," said Lions president and CEO Dennis Skulsky.

The club moved their preseason tilt from their den at BC Place to make way for the FIFA Women's World Cup soccer tournament which began last Saturday.

"Having hosted two Grey Cup festivals over the past four years which have contributed close to a quarter-billion dollars to our local economy, we recognize the importance of what major events such as the Women's World Cup do for our community," added Skulsky. "Playing our preseason game at UBC is an extension of that community spirit and we're looking forward to providing our fans with a fun night of football in an intimate setting."

From the pre-game tailgate party outside the stadium beginning at 5:00 pm, to the up-close feeling that only field-level access can provide, the June 19th tune-up for the regular season is a great way to kick-off the year. It's also provided the Lions with an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with UBC and its football program currently under the tutelage of new head coach Blake Nill.

"The University of British Columbia and UBC Thunderbirds Football are excited about the opportunities of this partnership with the BC Lions," said head coach Blake Nill. "Football in the province of BC has always been recognized as a strength and I believe this joint effort will both grow the sport at UBC and further the development of amateur football throughout metro Vancouver."

BC Lions Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort is currently underway in Kamloops, BC.

BC Lions season tickets for 2015 are available for purchase as are three-game packs and single game tickets.

The Lions kickoff their 2015 regular season home schedule versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday, July 10 at 7:00 pm presented by TELUS.
