B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) Just a little over a month separates the BC Lions Football Club from their 60th season and with a number of current and former Lions in attendance at BC Place this morning, the club launched their fan-inspired 60th Season Celebration logo.
Submitted by Rick Alsop of Coquitlam, the design includes the club's original Lion clutching a football along with the secondary 'paw' mark in addition to the current Lions logo all set against a large number "60."
"Six decades of Lions football has produced a lifetime of lasting memories for fans across British Columbia," said Lions President and CEO Dennis Skulsky. "Rick's inspired design has truly captured our desire to create a logo which acknowledges seasons past while also celebrating the incredibly bright future ahead for our club."
In addition to rolling out the logo, the club also announced three presenting partners of the 60th Season Celebration which included TELUS, PlayNow.com and BOSA Properties.
"Thanks in large part to these outstanding community-minded partners, we're going to enjoy a very memorable 60th season in 2013; one fans will be talking about from now until November and beyond," added Skulsky. "BOSA Properties is proud to have been a part of the BC Lions family for more than five decades and we are thrilled to be a presenting partner of this historic 60th season," said founder, Robert Bosa. "Our common values of hard work, high expectations and community-building make this partnership a perfect fit."
"As a proud supporter of the BC Lions, we are thrilled to be a part of their 60th Season Celebration," said Nicholas Cartmell, TELUS' Director of Strategic Initiatives. "Canadian football matters to our customers and our customers matter to us, so we are committed to supporting the outstanding legacy and sense of community that has been built by the Lions and look forward to celebrating more milestones together in the future."
"We're proud to be a presenting sponsor for the historic 60th season of the BC Lions," said Michael Graydon, BCLC President & CEO. "This partnership reflects our commitment of supporting a strong sports and entertainment culture in B.C. and will help create outstanding experiences for British Columbians across the province."
Among a number of fan activations that will take place in 2013, the club will launch its Top 6 of 60 promotion in coming weeks where online fan voting will determine the Lions' most outstanding six players all-time. With names like Kapp, Fleming, Flutie, Johnson, Simon and dozens more, the debate will rage throughout the summer.

The Lions kick off the 2013 campaign with a preseason tilt versus Edmonton on Friday, June 21 at 7:00 pm and begin their regular season home schedule on Thursday, July 4 versus the reigning Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts.
