B.C. Lions News Release
(VANCOUVER) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that offensive lineman Dean Valli has agreed to terms on a new contract.
Originally joining the club as a first-round selection in the 2006 CFL Draft (sixth overall), Valli became a starter at left guard last year after three seasons as a back-up.
"Dean demonstrated last season that he was ready to take the next step in his football career and I am pleased to have him back," said Lions' GM and head coach, Wally Buono.
Showing veteran versatility, the North Vancouver native and Simon Fraser grad not only started all 18 games in 2009, but also filled in for injured centre Angus Reid for the final two regular season games as well as both East Division playoff tilts.
"I am very excited to remain with my hometown club," said Valli. "I believe we have a core group of players on both sides of the ball that went through a lot last season and we're going to be better for it moving forward."
