(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club was back on the practice field late last week in preparation for the Calgary Stampeders who make a return visit on Friday, August 27th at 7:30 pm and bring with them the CFL's best record at 6-1. The Leos and Stamps last met on August 7th with the Red and White coming out on top by a 27-22 margin.

The Lions will have Casey Printers back behind centre after missing the last five games with injury and the pivot who led the team to its only win on the season is anxious to get back on the field.

"We have no more excuses in 2010. This is a good team with a core of talented veterans and we now we have to play like one," says Printers.

Over the bye week the club added a few new faces, most notably up are veteran help in the form of defensive lineman Jonathan Brown and well as former Edmonton Eskimos left tackle Joe McGrath.

"We have brought in some new faces that will help us solidify our play up front and help us out with some injuries," said Buono. "As a group, we have to be more disciplined and execute our defensive and offensive game plans more effectively to be successful and put ourselves in a position to compete with the elite teams in our league."

The Lions will definitely be doing just that as they host West Division leaders Calgary this week, and then travel to Montreal to take on the defending Grey Cup champions on September 3rd.

The Lions do play three of their next four games at Empire Field beginning Friday night and fans are reminded that their game ticket versus Calgary is also good for free admission on game day to the PNE which is currently in full swing next door to Empire Field.

"Our partners at the PNE have been simply outstanding this year and we appreciate their generosity in offering this promotion to fans of the BC Lions," said Lions president and CEO, Dennis Skulsky.

In keeping with the retro theme this year, the Lions welcome back alumni Jerry Tagge and Leon Bright who will be on hand game day to meet fans and sign autographs from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm as part of the Street Party festivities at the north end of Empire Field. The Lions will also be wearing their popular 70's-inspired orange jerseys on Friday night and fans are remind to wear orange to the game.

The next BC Lions home game is Friday, August 27th at 7:30 pm versus the Calgary Stampeders presented by the PNE. Catch the action beginning with the pregame show starting at 5:30 pm on the home of the Lions, TEAM 1410. For tickets call 604.589.ROAR. Click here for the complete Lions 2010 schedule.
