B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that import wide receivers Otis Amey and Anthony Russo have agreed to terms on contracts with the team.
Amey brings some NFL experience to Lions camp as the former Sacramento State star originally started his professional career with the San Francisco 49'ers as an undrafted free agent in 2005. Amey also had stints with the AFL's Austin Wranglers and Cleveland Gladiators in recent years.
Russo joins the Lions following a standout career at the University of Washington ('04-'07). During his senior season he notched 49 receptions for 766 yards as well as five touchdowns earning him a Pac-10 honourable mention. Last year, Russo stayed close to home, signing as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks.
The club also announced that receivers Eric McCain and Dereck Faulkner have been released.
BC Lions Training Camp begins on Sunday, June 7 in Abbotsford BC.
