B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) A day after the BC Lions added seven players via the 2013 CFL Draft, two more young Canadians including offensive lineman Spencer Lang (Langley Rams) and Whitman Tomusiak (V.I. Raiders) have received training camp invitations from the club.

Both Lang and Tomusiak will take part in the Lions' three-day mini-camp in Kamloops from Thursday, May 30th through June 1st before main camp gets underway on Sunday, June 2nd.

"Junior football in British Columbia has been a tremendous source of talent for our club and I'm pleased we will give these players an opportunity to compete and develop," said Lions player personnel coordinator Neil McEvoy.

Lang earned a 2012 BCJFC All-Star selection after anchoring the Langley Rams' offensive line from his left tackle position. At 6'7" and 320 lbs, the Mission, BC native brings plenty of size to the position and was a standout at the Lions' evaluation camp in April.

Tomusiak impressed Lions scouts with a blazing 40-yard time last month and an impressive football resume after leading junior receivers across the nation in 2012 with 37 receptions for 919 yards and eight touchdowns. The lofty numbers earned him a BCJFC All-Star selection as well as a CJFL All-Star nod. Tomusiak was also the BCJFC's Rookie of the Year in 2010.

Lang and Tomusiak join junior standouts Bobby Davis, Steven Doege and Steven Shott all of the Okanagan Sun who agreed to contracts with the Lions last November. Vancouver Island Raiders quarterback Jordan Yantz will also attend training camp with the Lions before attending the University of Manitoba this fall.

The Lions also announced that they have released receivers Keith Godding and D.J. Woods.

BC Lions Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort gets underway in Kamloops, BC on Sunday, June 2. The Lions kick off the 2013 campaign with a preseason tilt versus Edmonton on Friday, June 21 at 7:00 pm and begin their regular season home schedule on Thursday, July 4 versus the reigning Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts.
