
Lincoln Outlasts Blacksnakes in Marathon

ST. JOSEPH, MO-In the longest game in Blacksnakes history, the Lincoln Saltdogs (25-10, 56-27) outlasted St. Joe (16-18, 42-40), 5-3. The game saw 34 combined players, 11 total pitchers, 26 runners left on base and took 4 hours and 44 minutes to complete.
The only runs through nine innings were scored on Scooter Jordan's third inning double for a 1-0 lead. Lincoln scored an unearned run in the sixth when Evan Tartaglia reached on an error and scored on Pichi Balet's double to tie the game at 1-1.
Twice Lincoln took leads in extra innings, only to see St. Joe rally to tie it both times before the Saltdogs plated two two-out runs in the 16th for the win.
There were a number of outstanding performances, and out-of-position performances, but in the end, St. Joe falls four-games back of St. Paul for the wild card with 14 games left.
The âSnakes look to rebound quickly Saturday night in the finale with Lincoln. Donovan Graves (7-5) starts against Lincoln's Lindsay Gulin (11-1) at 7:05pm.
