Sussex Skyhawks News Release
AUGUSTA, N.J. - Roger Lincoln threw seven shutout innings, and Chris Brown drove in three runs to power the Sussex Skyhawks to a 6-4 win over the Worcester Tornadoes in front of 3,568 at Skylands Park on Friday night. Lincoln scattered five hits, while striking out four and not walking a batter, to earn his third win of the season.
Brown stroked an RBI-double in the third and a two-run home run to left in the seventh to supply much of the Skyhawks' offense. He finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored to go along with his two doubles and home run.
Trailing 5-0 in the top of the eighth, Worcester plated four runs highlighted by a Carlos Sosa RBI-double and a Jeff LaHair RBI-single. Sussex reliever Sandy Nin threw the final 1 1/3 inning to earn his third save of the season.
Worcester starter Ryan Lobban (4-3) took the loss after giving up five runs (four earned) on 11 hits over 6 1/3 innings.
The Skyhawks and Tornadoes continue the four game series at Skylands Park on Saturday at 5:05 p.m.
