Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, Miss –Fortunate Memphis fans, and maybe some internet readers of In The Crease and Just Hockey, will have a one-time chance to pick up a copy of the Ice Pages with Doug Shedden's and Don Parsons' autograph on the cover. A majority of the proceeds will be donated to the Parsons' Pledge.

The duo are pictured on the cover of the 2002-03 Ice Pages in a photo that was taken immediately after the team won the CHL championship last season.

The Ice Pages is a minor pro guide that features every single player who played during the 2001-02 season at the minor pro level, most of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft players and many North Americans in Europe and Europeans who played in North America. All told the book contains the career records of over 2,000 players and is used by the Hockey Hall of Fame, NHL clubs and numerous minor pro leagues for reference material and veteran-rule guidelines.

"Doug and Don really came through on this one," said Ice Pages' complier Tom Schettino. "I was coming down to Memphis to present the ITC/JH Player of the Year trophy to Don and came up with this idea to help out his pledge. This is a terrific collector's item and I'll probably be buying one for my own office."

The ITC/JH Player of the Year award will be presented to Parsons on Saturday night after the first period intermission.

The books will be available between periods at the DeSoto Civic Center at the Just Hockey table during this coming weekend of March 14th through the 16th. Each book will cost $28 and is available on a first-come first-served basis.

Internet fans can reserve their copy by sending an e-mail to Tom Schettino at (itcminors@aol.com) and will be placed on a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for an autographed book acquired through the internet will be $32 which includes shipping.
