Burlington, N.C. - After three Royals wins in four days behind 10 or more runs, Burlington pitching got the job done on Friday in a 6-0 win over the Braves.

With two outs in the bottom of the second, Burlington shortstop Maikel Garcia smacked an RBI single to put the Royals on the board first. Burle Dixon followed by scoring on a Lisandro Santos wild pitch to make it a 2-0 lead.

Later, in the bottom of the fifth, Burlington found the score column again on a Jack Gethings RBI single. Two batters later, Logan Porter ripped a single that brought in two runs to pad the Royals lead to 5-0.

Burlington's final run came in the bottom of the seventh when David Hollie plated Will Hancock on a fielder's choice.

Meanwhile, the Royals pitching trio of Angel Zerpa, Zack Phillips and Elliott Anderson held the Braves to three hits while letting just one runner reach second and not allowing any to reach third.

Zerpa, who tossed five one-hit innings out of the gate and struck out nine, earned the win and moves to 5-3 on the 2019 season. On the other side, Santos took the loss in his first Appalachian League decision of the year.

The Royals will look to sweep the Braves in the final meeting of a three-game set on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
