Lights FC Visits Louisville City for First Ever Matchup
June 24, 2023 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Las Vegas Lights FC News Release

Louisville City' FCs Enoch Mushagalusa and Tyler Gibson versus Las Vegas Lights FC's Jacob Bushue
(Las Vegas Lights FC)
Lights FC concluded their three game road trip by visiting Louisville City FC at Lynn Family Stadium, one of the toughest USL Championship venues to play in. This was the first ever matchup between these teams.
In a first half with limited opportunities for both squads, Las Vegas had the best one with a shot from Tabort Etaka Preston hitting the woodwork.
Louisville opened the score in the 77th minute with just their second shot on target of the game. Nial McCabe found a streaking Brian Ownby on the right side of the field, with Ownby serving a perfect cross in the box to Enoch Mushagalusa who buried the ball in the back of the net with the game-winning goal.
This marked the 13th game Lights FC hasn't conceded more than 2 goals, but in only two of them has Las Vegas been able to score more than once (road ties against Orange County and Memphis).
NEXT GAME:
Lights FC will begin a four game homestand on Saturday, July 1st by hosting the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Knight Night, where we will celebrate our world champion local hockey team. Lights' players will wear limited edition Golden jerseys that can be purchased at LightsFC.com/Hockey
There will be a halftime hot-dog eating contest and postgame fireworks for the fans in attendance.
Las Vegas will play five matches at Cashman Field during the month of July, a franchise record for home games in a month. Tickets are on sale at LightsFC.com/Tickets
