Lights FC to Host Free Poolside Watch Party at Plaza Hotel & Casino for Key Road Match at Saint Louis FC
August 6, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
LAS VEGAS - Following a fun and victorious kickoff to Las Vegas Lights FC's August "Saturday Night Lights" schedule this past weekend, now comes a unique way for fans of the club to support their team from afar.
Lights FC looks to remain unbeaten in August this Saturday, Aug. 11, at 5:30 p.m., hitting the road to take on Saint Louis FC.
While the team is handling its business in the midwest, fans are invited to a free poolside watch party in Downtown Las Vegas at the iconic rooftop pool deck at Plaza Hotel & Casino. Fans planning on attending Saturday night are encouraged to RSVP for the free poolside party at LightsFC.com/August. Parking for the event will be free, as well.
Fans who attend will be joined by Lights FC mascot Cash the Soccer Rocker, Lights FC midfielder Carlos Alvarez and other non-traveling players.
The night's festivities will begin at 5 p.m., and throughout the night will include signature cocktails from Jameson, Absolut and Malibu, plus a photo booth, putting green and bingo, featuring Lights FC prizes for the winners.
"With hundreds of our fans in attendance in June at the first annual Kick 'n Crawl, we had a blast wrapping up the night with festivities poolside at the Plaza," Lights FC Owner & CEO Brett Lashbrook said. "We can't wait to continue making it a regular location for our fans to gather together and support our club, continuing this Saturday night at an only-in-Vegas watch party!"
The watch party comes on the heels of Lights FC (7-9-5, 26 points) winning its fourth straight home match Saturday night, besting Rio Grande Valley FC Toros at Cashman Field, 1-0. In Saint Louis, Lights FC faces the team directly above it in the USL's Western Conference standings, as both teams are looking to gain ground in the race for a playoff spot this October. Lights FC defeated Saint Louis FC in their first meeting at Cashman Field on July 7, 1-0.
Following Saturday night's event in DTLV, the final two installments on the "Saturday Night Lights" slate will be upcoming home matches on Aug. 18 and Aug. 25.
August 18, will be UFC Night at Cashman Field, with UFC legend Forrest Griffin, plus current fighters Joe Benavidez and Claudia Gedalha on hand at the match and interacting with fans at the Zappos pregame tailgate party.
