FC Cincinnati Collects More Than 1,000 New Accounts for 2019 Season Tickets

FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - A week before opening up the renewal process for current Season Ticket Members, FC Cincinnati has already added more than 1,000 new season ticket accounts for the 2019 season.
In mid-June, FC Cincinnati was forced to cap 2018 season ticket sales at 18,000 because of pre-sold multiple-game package and single-game sales later in the season, which led to an exhaustion of full-season inventory.
As the 2019 renewals process starts on Sunday, FCC officials are bullish as the club enters its inaugural season in Major League Soccer.
"Even before we've started renewals for our current Season Ticket Members, we've experienced tremendous excitement for the 2019 season which is evidenced by the sheer number of new accounts that have been opened with a deposit," Jeff Smith, Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service, said. "We've seen a much higher new deposit rate - and it's happening much earlier - than we have in our first two seasons. Additionally, we've also received really positive feedback from our fans and supporters about the price points for our 2019 season tickets.
"We expect a very high renewal rate as Cincinnati prepares to join MLS and our fans establish priority for selection when we open our new stadium in 2021. We strongly believe we'll have a season ticket base that pushes close to 25,000 at Nippert Stadium next year," Smith said.
FC Cincinnati will continue to accept deposits for new 2019 season tickets during the renewals process. Fans who hope to purchase 2019 Season Ticket Memberships are encouraged to place deposits soon to ensure they are able to secure seats for next season.
Smith noted that while there are more than 1,000 new season ticket accounts, that figure is expected to represent several thousand more actual season tickets as multiple season tickets are added on most accounts.
"While we've not yet set a number where we'll have to cap season ticket sales, we are planning to allot more seats to season ticket sales than we did this year," Smith said. "However, based off early excitement and where we are in the sales process, there is a strong possibility we will see our season ticket inventory exhausted again, and potentially earlier than ever."
Current season ticket members will begin the renewal process on Sunday, Aug. 12 - the club's third anniversary of its founding in 2015. All current season ticket members will receive an email midday Sunday with instructions to renew as the entire process will be conducted online and over the phone.
FC Cincinnati (13-3-6, 45 pts.) currently sits atop the USL standings with the top point total in the entire league. The team returns to action on Sunday, August 12, when it hosts Penn FC at 6 p.m. at Nippert Stadium. The game will be the team's annual "White Out" game, and it will be televised on WSTR 64, streamed on ESPN+ and carried on the radio by ESPN 1530 AM.
