Ottawa Fury FC News Release

OTTAWA - Ottawa Fury FC have added more depth to their roster on Monday with the arrival of defender Daniel Kinumbe (KEE-noom-bey) to Ottawa. This is a first professional contract for the young up-and-coming defender from Sherbrooke.

Daniel Kinumbe is a product of the Montreal Impact Academy, where he played 39 games with the U-17/18 and U-18/19 teams in the US Development Academy. During his 2017-2018 season, he scored 10 goals and started 24 of the 25 matches he dressed for.

Raised in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Kinumbe has also been on the path to represent Canada on the international stage, most recently featuring for the Canadian U-23 team at the prestigious Festival International Espoirs Provence in Toulon, France, under Head Coach John Herdman, where he started all four matches.

With the addition of Kinumbe, Ottawa Fury FC bolster their options on the back line and set themselves up for a post-season run. Ottawa Fury FC continue their fight for a playoff spot this Tuesday, August 7, when they visit Atlanta United 2 to complete the June 16 suspended match, before heading out to face Nashville on Friday.
