
Lights FC Streak Snapped Bybest Team in USL Championship

Lights FC's eight day span with three matches continued on Wednesday night by hosting San Antonio FC, team with the best record in USL Championship.
The squad from the Lone-Star State opened the score with a corner kick deflection from Saad Abdul-Salaam in the 34th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Samuel Adeniran extended the lead for San Antonio with a great team play that started with a throw in from enemy territory and concluded with Adeniran taking the ball from near midfield to inside the box and his shot going from the top of the crossbar into the back of the net for the 2-0 final score.
San Antonio boasts the best defense in the league after only allowing 14 goals in 20 matches and they extended their streak of minutes without allowing a goal to 414 with their fourth straight clean sheet and fifth in their last six games.
During the match there was extreme weather with wind and rain throughout the night, with the game going into a weather delay in the 86th minute due to lightning in the area at 9:35 p.m. and restarting al 10:10 p.m.

NEXT HOME MATCH:
Lights FC will return to Cashman Field on Saturday, August 20th to face Sacramento Republic FC, who advanced to the US Open Cup Final by defeating Sporting Kansas City in penalty kicks on Wednesday night. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
