El Paso Locomotive Hosts Louisville City FC for First Meeting at Southwest University Park

EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Locomotive FC (9-8-6, 33 pts., West-5) will host Louisville City FC (13-3-4, 43 pts., East-1) at Southwest University Park on Saturday, July 30. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. MT and will feature a Christmas in July theme. The first 1,500 fans to Southwest University Park when gates open at 6:30 p.m. MT will receive a limited-edition winter themed Locomotive scarf. Santa Claus will also be in attendance for young Locomotive fans to meet and get Holiday wish lists in early.

El Paso Locomotive FC heads into the weekend looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to San Antonio FC last Saturday in a crucial East vs West match up against Louisville City FC. So far in 2022, El Paso Locomotive has faced seven Eastern Conference opponents, earning a record of 3-1-3, pushing their all-time record to 6-1-4 against Eastern Conference foes. Louisville City FC will provide Locomotive a unique challenge as one of the premier clubs in the USL Championship.

Lou City finds itself at the top of the Eastern Conference after playing 20 matches throughout the 2022 USL Championship season. Most recently, Louisville City hosted Phoenix Rising FC playing to a 0-0 draw at Lynn Family Stadium. Throughout the 2022 season, Louisville has clashed five times with Western Conference clubs, earning a mixed record of 2-2-1. Overall, throughout their storied career, Louisville City has come out with a 6-3-2 record against the Western Conference, including two USL Championship Title Wins. Saturday's contest will be a test of Locomotive's mettle as it takes on its toughest opponent of the season as it looks to hold on to a coveted playoff position near the end of its 2022 regular season run.
