Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
LAS VEGAS - With plenty of promotions and festivities planned for Saturday night's Cinco de Mayo soccer party at Cashman Field, one tribute carried out by the Las Vegas Lights FC players will hold special meaning to Technical Director ChelÃs.
The club's Starting XI for Saturday's 8 p.m. match vs. Tulsa Roughnecks FC will wear special outfits over their kits during player introductions - Outfits which pay homage to those who gave Cinco de Mayo meaning.
Cinco de Mayo marks the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, in which Mexican heroes defended the country against the French empire in 1862.
The Lights FC ties to the city of Puebla are significant, as ChelÃs, Head Coach Isidro Sánchez and forward Anuar Kanan are from the city, giving the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla special significance for the entire club.
