
Lights FC and Birmingham Deliver a Thriller Match at Cashman Field

Lights FC played its third home game in an eight-day span by facing Birmingham Legion FC.
In their first visit to Las Vegas, Legion FC took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break with goals from former US Men's National Team member Juan Agudelo in the 31st minute and Tyler Pasher in the 45th minute.
Lights FC found a spark by putting the ball in the back of the net twice in a seven-minute span. Zach Carroll with a header inside the six-yard box to set up Tabort Etaka Preston to cut the distance in the score in the 60th minute.
Vegas followed it up with a cross from Preston that was deflected by goalkeeper Matt Van Oekel and fell in front of Andrew Carleton, who leveled the score in the 67th minute with his first goal as a member of Lights FC.
Birmingham retook the lead in the 81st minute courtesy of Enzo Martinez, but for the second game in a row Las Vegas scored a game in added time to get a point as captain "Pato" Botello Faz tied the match in the 93rd minute.
With the 3-3 tie, Lights FC scored three goals for the first time in the 2023 USL Championship season and now have a two-game undefeated streak.
NEXT GAME:
Lights FC will conclude their four game homestand on Saturday, July 22nd by hosting Hartford Athletic from the Eastern Conference at 7:30 p.m.
At halftime there will be a competitive eating contest presented by with Pinkbox Doughnuts, where fans will be able to register to participate to eat the most donuts.
