Rockford Lightning News Release

The Lightning picked up their 17th win of the season and the 100th of Head Coach Chris Daleo's four-year career on Friday night at the Bismarck Civic Center. Marlon Parmer led the way with 27 points while John Jackson picked up 18 points and 16 rebounds in the 104-102 overtime win over the Dakota Wizards.

Jackson recorded a Lightning season high 12 offensive rebounds while getting his first start since November 25 at Albany. He is averaging 11.0 points and 11.5 boards over his last two games.

"We felt we didn't play together as a team the first night," said Daleo about Thursday's loss to the Wizards. "We needed to make a statement as a team the second night in Dakota and that resulted in a big road win for us heading into the break."

Coach Daleo has solidified his place in Rockford Lightning history with the win over Dakota. He is only the second Lightning coach since the team's move to Rockford in 1986 to reach 100 wins in his career, and doing so by the halfway point of his fourth season. This season, Daleo has moved into second place among the all-time wins leaders in Lightning history behind Mauro Panaggio with 131. His .592 winning percentage is the highest in Lightning history.

Daleo will head to Boise, Idaho on Monday to coach the Eastern Conference All-Stars for the third time in four years. He will be bringing four Lightning regulars along with him as Ronnie Fields, Roger Powell, Kenyon Gamble, and Marlon Parmer were each selected to the Eastern All-Stars. Daleo led the Eastern All-Stars to a 114-110 victory over the Western Conference in last year's game.

The 22nd Annual CBA All-Star Classic, sponsored by Athletes.com, will be held at the Qwest Arena in downtown Boise, Idaho on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006. The event is being hosted by the CBA's Idaho Stampede. With tip-off at 8:15 p.m. (CST), the All-Star game can be heard LIVE by Lightning fans on ESPN Radio 1380 "the jock", the Stateline sports leader with coverage starting at 8:00 p.m. (CST).

The Lightning will return home to the MetroCentre after finishing 2-2 in a four-game western conference road trip over the last seven days. They take on the Idaho Stampede on January 19 at 7:05 P.M. (CST). The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Marlon Parmer poster, and the Dakota High School Class 2A High School State Football Champions will be in attendance showing off their 2005 state championship trophy.
