
Lightning to Serve Turkey at Beyer School

The Lightning players will be looking to avoid fouls Tuesday Night against Yakima. Then on Wednesday morning the players will be serving fowl to the 5th grade class at Beyer School.
Stacey Walton has been providing a Turkey lunch for her fifth grade students for each of the past 7 years. Each child is to bring in a can of corn and 2 dollars and enjoy what could be their only Thanksgiving meal of the holiday season.
In the past those serving the meal has included Mayor Doug Scott, School SuperIntendent Dr Alan Brown, WTVO's Steve Stadelman, and Y95 radio personality Sky Drysdale.
This year the CBA's two leading scorers, David Harrison and Ronnie Fields, are scheduled to attend. Other Lightning players to serve Turkey to the kids include Carson Cunningham, Chauncey Jones, Jonathon Jones and Albert White. Head coach Chris Daleo and assistant coach Craig Shaman will also be on hand along with the voice of the Lightning Mike Garrigan.
The lunch will take place in Ms. Walton's classroom with about 50 students expected to be served food.
Beyer school is located on 333 15th avenue about 1 block East of Marinelli Field. Ninety Six percent of the school is on free or discounted lunch. Seventy Six percent of the kids live in a single parent home.
