
Lightning Hire Trent Cull as Crunch Assistant Coach

Syracuse, NY - Former Syracuse Crunch player and assistant coach Trent Cull will return to the Crunch bench as an assistant coach on Head Coach Rob Zettler's staff, Crunch General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today.
"Trent was a high character player and is a quality person who will contribute to the team culture we want to have on the Crunch," said BriseBois. "He will bring a wealth of experience to our coaching staff and we feel privileged that a candidate of his caliber has accepted to join our organization."
Cull has spent the last three seasons as the head coach of the OHL's Sudbury Wolves. Under his guidance the Wolves made the playoffs each season and amassed a regular season record of 94-88-11-11. Prior to being named head coach of the Wolves Cull spent four seasons as an assistant for the Crunch under Head Coach Ross Yates.
Following his playing career the Georgetown, Ontario, native made is professional coaching debut as an assistant with the Guelph Storm in 2004-05 and 2005-06. Cull played 614 games as a defenseman in the AHL and IHL totaling 107 points (28g, 79a) and 1,615 penalty minutes. The blueliner finished his playing career as a member of the Syracuse Crunch during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 season.

The Syracuse Crunch will celebrate 20 years of Crunch hockey at their home opener on October 12, 2013.
