Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club faced the London Lightning in NBL Canada action March 19th at the Budweiser Gardens. This loss makes it the first for the Hurricanes since March 4th and they now have a record of 18-8, still leading the Atlantic Division and placing #1 in the NBL.
London Lightning lead the Halifax Hurricanes at the end of the first quarter, 23-25. In the second quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Lightning 27-25, and the game was tied 50-50 at halftime. In the third quarter the Lightning outscored the Hurricanes 25-33. Hurricanes outscored the Lightning 32-30 in the final quarter but the Lightning prevailed; The final score of the game was 107-113.
Center, Kyle Hunt led the Hurricanes in scoring with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 19 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 19 points and had 9 rebounds. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 14 points. Guard, Brandon Bowdry scored 11.
Guard, Tyshawn Patterson all scorers with 23 points. Forward, Akeem Wright scored 22 and grabbed 8. Forward, Stephen Maxwell scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Forward, Warren Ward scored 15 points. Forward, Ryan Anderson scored 11 points.
The Hurricanes had a record of 2-1 on the Ontario road trip, and will return home on March 24th to face the Saint John Mill Rats at the Scotiabank Centre.
