Lightning assistant moves to CBA league office
October 28, 2005 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Rockford Lightning News Release
The Continental Basketball Association has named Dennis Truax as Director of Operations, effective Nov. 1, 2005. Part of Truax' duties as Director of Operations will be overseeing league compliance by the nine organizations, working with league vendors, assisting in league rules and operational procedures, and rule on the legitimacy of player transactions league-wide.
Truax comes to the CBA league office after serving as Director of Media Relations and assistant coach for the Rockford Lightning of the CBA. Prior to his stint in Rockford, Truax was the Director of Media Relations and Assistant Director of Basketball for the Gary Steelheads of the CBA. While at Gary, he helped coordinate the largest attended CBA All-Star game in over 10 years (6,678) on January 19, 2005. He also oversaw the daily marketing and public relations duties for the franchise. "I am very happy to be the new Director of Operations for the CBA," said Truax. "
The CBA is the premier minor league in sports and to be able to be a part of the league office is an honor. I will be stepping into some big shoes left by Scott Johnson, but with the help of everyone in the league office and throughout the CBA the transition will hopefully be a smooth one for me. I also want to give a special thanks to the Rockford Lightning organization for supporting me in this move." "Dennis' experience in the CBA, and professional basketball in general, will be beneficial to the league office," said Commissioner Gary Hunter. "His knowledge of the game of basketball and of the organizations in our league will help his transition into his role as Director of Operations. I'm excited to have him on board."
